Director Nick Cassavetes adapted Nicholas Sparks’ classic novel The Notebook, which is about Noah, Jr. and Allie Hamilton’s great love story. Played by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, they perfectly portrayed a deeply in love couple who was able to withstand the test of time together. Did you know that this tale is based on a true story? Yes! Nicholas chose to write the story of his former wife’s grandparents, who were together for more than 60 years. The novelist was deeply in awe of their intense love for each other, which might convince you that the degree of love Noah had for Allie was real.

Ryan and Rachel became an “it couple” after this movie and dated for a short while in real life. Sorry, shippers, their romance didn’t have the chance to blossom. Things didn’t work out for the two, but at least, they left us a fictional relationship that we would forever cherish.
