John may not be “The One that Got Away” of the pop superstar but he surely was loved by her. During a year and a half relationship, the former couple reportedly parted ways three times! They initially broke up in August 2012, got back, split in March 2013, on-again, and then finally called it quits in February 2014. The reason for the breakup was never really confirmed but it was certainly heartbreaking for the shippers. During their adorable relationship, they released their duet song Who You Love and even shot a music video for the single.

The former couple has eventually lived their separate lives. Katy, who has credits in various chart-topping hits like Roar and Fireworks, has been engaged with Orlando Bloom and even had her first child named Daisy Dove Bloom. Mayer, on the other hand, was linked with various celebrities; one of these is Cazzie David. Despite spending time dating, he surely never forgot to spoil his fans with new music. He released his album Sob Rock in July 2021.
